30th Birthday Concert

    It all began on Saturday July  11th  with the first and last  massed rehearsal for the concert in Polkyth Leisure Centre to be held the next day on Sunday July 11th.

the preparations....

 

 

 

 

 

Colin Touchin (born April 3 1953 in Liverpool, England) is a conductor, composer and music educator.Touchin studied clarinet with Graham Turner of the Halle Orchestra. After attending William Hulme's Grammar School in Manchester, he read Music at Keble College, Oxford Touchin then taught woodwind in Manchester and the surrounding areas before gaining recognition as a conductor and music educator, particularly of wind orchestras and ensembles. His career has included two years as Head of Composition at Chetham’s School of Music in Manchester, and the post of Director of Music at University of Warwick (1989 - 2003).

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

At the conclusion of the rehearsal and as all the choirs made their way home, the task of transforming Polkyth Leisure Centre into an attractive and functional concert hall  began...the time 5.00pm..
